Hey Everyone!

I just wanted to send out a small update and let everyone know to head on over to the Kinetik website ( for those of you who don't know what Kinetik is, its the largest industrial festival in North America held in Montreal Canada ) and vote for Fractured to play for 2010!

Some other great news, Dependent Records is now back in business just in time for some new Fractured material. We have been working really hard the last few months and are just about completed a 12 track demo which we hope to have 100% completed by the end of 2009. You can get a taste of the new tracks / demos @ myspace.com/fractured.

We're also looking into booking a few shows in August / September around Ontario / Quebec so keep an eye out!

A little music / life update:

Just finished a handful of new Fractured tracks and seem to be working at a good pace, I have finally split off the metalish tunes and created 'Shallow Seasons' as a side-project to do harder more organic songs where I can play as much guitar as I want and nobody can complain ;)

This means that I will no longer be using guitar as a main element of the songs and probably won't be playing guitar live (as much) anymore and changing the dynamic of our live show as a result, I have some pretty cool tricks up my sleeve..

Also a new Fractured track 'Nothing' will be featured on the upcoming Endzeit Bunkertracks 4 comp through Alfa-Matrix, first comp appearance in a while, looking forward to ramping up again!

I've switched jobs AGAIN which makes this #3 for the year, ive decided to get out of online media for a while which will hopefully allow me to work on more music and have a life again, but my last big project went online about 3 weeks ago now: www.everycup.ca which was a flash / html hybrid blog style site where users can add stories and view other peoples stories through a pretty neat looking interface, I did all the flash programming and have to say it turned out pretty nicely and im seeing it advertised on tv, radio, online and print.. pretty cool!

Check out some new tracks up online at:

So today my baby goes online, for the last few weeks ive been developing a crazy site for Molson Canadian and putting in retarded hours, in the last 4 days ive worked about 70 hrs and I finally get to have somewhat of a life back again. Im super proud to say that I programmed the entire thing myself from start to finish and getting to work with top notch illustrators and designers rules.

If anyone is familiar with the canadian rocks concert series that Molson put out, its another contest similiar to that where you have to buy cases of beer and enter pins to win, the flash site is probably the craziest thing ive ever made and its fucking huge! head on over to http://www.molsoncanadian.ca/megakeg/ and load that shit up!

I just wanted to thank everyone for their condolences and well wishes, the last two weeks were really up and down but things are starting to settle back into things. Last Tuesday I was in Ottawa for the funeral and ended up playing guitar for Encephalon and I had soooooooo much fun! Other than that, work has been retardedly busy but I have a project finishing up this weekend.

One of the most important people in my life passed away yesterday. Irene Launcelott my Grandma was probably the strongest most level-headed, kind, forgiving and loving person I've ever come to know. Throughout her long life there were many things that could have skewed and jaded her but she was always the first to forgive and was always genuinely happy, something that I wish to learn one day. I can only aspire to have those traits and I feel that this will help influence me to being a better human being.

I will never forget all the things she did for me, she is the reason I have an education and she is also the reason I work where I do. She used to cut out newspaper clippings of success stories and mail them to me, encouraging me to do my best and always take pride in what I do even in the smallest facets of life.

She will be greatly missed, and never forgotten. She will become just one more part of my driving force and allow me to accomplish more in life, and have a reason to make her proud.

Always in loving memory.

currently on the way back from a crazy weekend in Montreal / Ottawa, myself and m@ from Encephalon decided to take a last-minute trip to Kinetik Festival in Quebec to check out some bands and meet up with some folks.

the festival itself was great, the venue was super slick and fancy but the no-drinking inside the actual stage area was pretty lame... bought some cool cds and clothes but I have to admit the whole spark and excitement of COMA / Kinetik (even though they arent even the same festivals) isnt the same as years passed.

Lots of fun was had, met a few really cool people and cant wait to get home to take a shower and jump in bed for a decent night sleep!

A friend of mine got me thinking today.

Nothing is forever.
All is metaphoric.
All is conscious experience.

Makes the Matrix seem a little more feasible, doesn't it?

I want to make a clear update to the status of Fractured, as some people might want to know:

Since Only Human Remains came out at the end of 2005 I have probably written about 3 albums worth of music which has been completely all over the map with absolutely no consistancy track-to-track which is the main reason nothing has been released.

Since then I have been trying to figure out the right balance for what I invision to be the next incarnation of Fractured and its been an incredibly long process, trying many different ideas and taking a lot of musical risks with the foundation that has been created. Through a complete line-up change plus more I've been able to work with a few great musicians and widen my breadth of musical maturity and get a bit closer to being able to translate what I hear in my head onto a record. After writing 2 albums of 'club-friendly' music I am not so interested in being part of the club circuit anymore, time to try something new.

Fractured will be releasing about 12-15 new songs over the next few months based on the same model as the NIN 'Ghosts' where you can download a few tracks for free or the whole lot as higher kbps download for a very small fee. I have already started working on some very cool ideas for distributing the music, even to the point of a small installer which will notify you on your desktop when new tracks are released with the ability to stream / download, tag, refer, comment etc as well as grab remix kits and other goodies like the long out-of-print 'Contami-Nation' complete with artwork pdf downloads.

New tracks have been under production since the beginning of this year, myself, Mitchell Mayhem (Redeemer), and Arc (DYM) will be the future line-up and I believe this is the strongest and hardest working Fractured has ever been, a new dynamic and a new sound taking things even further.

keep your ears peeled, lots of Fractured on the way!

Bought a ps3 this weekend and call of duty 4, I dont think I left my room all weekend, if you play online or have a ps3 add me: 'imfractured' is my nickname.

happy easter to everyone who celebrates it, im not much for it myself but its def nice to have a long weekend!

the 5 day count-down to my new job is on, it feels pretty weird to leave my current job after less than 3 months but I can't wait to work on cool shit again, just have to make sure im not killing myself with overtime.

been working more on the tracks for the album and wanted to know, for anyone who reads this and was a fan of the earlier material, if there was one thing you could say drew you in from our old sound what would it be? Im trying to find some string of continuity to pull into the new tracks and im having trouble deciding how much electronic and how much metal production to mix...

in other news, i've decided to stop kicking the dead horse.

wow, today has been pretty fucking amazing!

I had my second interview this afternoon at lunch and they offered me the job, ill be making $10,000 more a year plus benefits, free beer, nachos and tons of little perks.

On top of that, I had shown a facebook application that ive been working on to the manager there last week or whenever my first interview was and he apparently creamed his pants, he asked me today if I would be interested in selling it to Molson (the beer company)!

They also have a lounge setup with a plasma tv, ps3, guitar heros and rockband etc, I cant wait for April 1st!!
